The new building stems from the idea of establishing a serene dialogue, for this the facade is articulated, on the one hand, on a very vertical composition of openings that refers to the "red brick building" and on the other on the padding of both the plinth like corner shots of the "historicist building". The plinth is the most sensitive from the point of view of typological integration since it is the element of the building that is most perceived, if not the only one, when walking the streets. That is why special care has been taken in its definition. The plinth of the new building gives literal continuity to that of the "historicist building" but, to avoid an unsolvable encounter at the other end of the façade, what is mass and volume is interpreted as empty and hollow. This is achieved by giving physical continuity to the wound by means of metal profiles and glazing between them, so that the façade of the new building gives physical continuity to the plinth.
